Executive Underwriter, Environmental

Westchester Environmental is looking for an applicant to fill the position of Executive Underwriter. Westchester Environmental writes both contractors and consultants across multiple industries. This underwriter will be charged with directly underwriting, managing, and growing a book consisting mainly of Environmental Contractors/Consultants package, monoline site, contractors’ pollution, and environmental auto.

• Solicits new and renewal submissions from appointed wholesaler brokers.
• Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans.
• Quote/Bind coverage.
• Documents the underwriting files to company/division expectations.
• Handle files and portfolios within underwriting authority.
• Takes ownership of given production goals and utilizes all available department resources to achieve said goals.
• Local and regional broker visitations/travel is expected.

• Experience in the wholesale/E&S insurance industry.
• Experience in underwriting environmental lines of business.
• Ability to review and analyze environmental due diligence.
• Ability to review, evaluate, and develop coverage forms and endorsements.
• Negotiation & presentation skills.
• Proven broker relations & customer management skill set.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, share knowledge, and develop staff.
